MITO HIBACHI & SUSHI
Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 29, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains information associated with the Mito Hibachi & Sushi website, customer inquiries, reservations, online orders, gift card inquiries, private events, loyalty services, and customer messaging when offered. It describes information handling; simply visiting the website or reading this policy does not supply a separate consent where the law requires one.
1. Information you provide
Depending on the service you use, you may provide your name, email address, phone number, full date of birth, reservation date and time, party size, event or seating preferences, order information, and the contents of messages or attachments. Dietary or allergy information is included only if you choose to provide it; discuss important food-safety concerns directly with restaurant staff.
The loyalty form currently requests your full name, email address, phone number, and birthday, including birth year. The loyalty service can also hold a membership number, verification or membership status, signup source and timestamps, recorded signup wording, and offer or redemption-related records.
2. Automatically processed information and security tools
Website and infrastructure providers can process IP addresses, browser and device details, referring pages, requested URLs, timestamps, and interactions with site features. The loyalty service records a hashed IP value and browser user-agent information for security and abuse prevention and uses a spam-trap field. A hashed identifier is not necessarily anonymous; hosting providers may also process the original network address while handling a request.
3. Cookies, analytics, and advertising
The website uses Squarespace and related site services, along with Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and Google Ads tools configured for analytics and advertising measurement. These technologies can use cookies, pixels, browser storage, advertising or campaign identifiers, and device information to understand site use, link interactions, advertising results, and, where configured, advertising relevance.
Browser settings can block or delete cookies or restrict tracking. You can also review Google's advertising controls, the Google Analytics opt-out add-on where supported, and Google's explanation of information from partner sites. Restrictions may affect some site functions. These controls have their own scope and do not necessarily stop every form of information processing.
Some privacy laws define sale, sharing, or targeted advertising to include certain disclosures of identifiers or browsing activity even when no money is paid for that information. Whether those definitions apply depends on the practices and law involved. Contact info@mitohibachi.com about an applicable opt-out or other privacy choice; available rights depend on applicable law.
4. How information is used
Respond to questions, feedback, and customer-service requests.
Arrange reservations, discuss private events, and support requested accommodations.
Prepare, fulfill, and support orders and related inquiries.
Administer loyalty membership, verification, offers, and redemption checks.
Deliver requested or necessary service communications and, where offered, promotional communications subject to applicable choices and permissions.
Operate, troubleshoot, measure, and protect the website and services.
Maintain necessary transaction or business records, address disputes or misuse, and meet legal obligations.
5. Google Business Profile and AI-assisted messaging
If Google Business Profile messaging is enabled and you use it, Google and participating messaging providers process the conversation to deliver the service. An AI agent may handle common questions, and authorized Mito staff can monitor, take over, and respond to conversations. Message content, available contact details, booking requests, and customer-supplied attachments may be available to Mito for customer service. Google provides messaging insights and notifications when staff attention is needed.
Google's processing is explained in the Google Privacy Policy; messaging providers and carriers also apply their own notices. For sensitive concerns, request a human response or call Mito. Do not send passwords, full payment-card information, or unnecessary sensitive records in a chat.
6. Providers and information sharing
Website hosting: Squarespace processes information associated with operating the public site.
Loyalty hosting, records, and security: Cloudflare services, including Workers and D1, support the loyalty service and its records. Cloudflare also serves some website assets and related tools.
Email delivery: Microsoft 365 / Microsoft Graph infrastructure is used by the loyalty service to send email. Message content, recipient details, delivery-related information, and replies are processed as needed for that communication.
Analytics and advertising: Google tools process information described in the cookies and advertising section.
QR-code images: Where a QR image is generated or loaded through an external service, its provider can receive the link encoded in the image and request metadata. Current code uses QuickChart for membership-link QR images and QRServer for some generated print materials. A membership link can contain a membership identifier.
Orders, reservations, and other independent services: Providers such as Toast, OpenTable, payment or gift card providers, and map or review platforms process information when you use their services. Their policies cover their own handling of information. Information supplied to Mito to fulfill or support your request remains subject to Mito's applicable obligations.
Information may also be disclosed when required by law or reasonably necessary to address fraud, security issues, legal claims, or threats to rights or safety. A business transfer may involve relevant records, subject to applicable law and continuing privacy obligations. These provisions do not authorize an incompatible new use without any notice or consent the law requires.
7. Communications and your choices
Use the unsubscribe instructions in a promotional email, where provided, or contact Mito to request that promotional emails stop. Necessary messages about an active order, reservation, event inquiry, verification, security issue, or privacy request may continue when permitted by law. A message containing promotions is not automatically a necessary service message just because its recipient is a member.
Providing a phone number, joining a loyalty program, or starting a customer-service chat does not by itself provide a separate permission for marketing that legally requires one. Any required consent must be obtained through an appropriate, separately presented process; this privacy notice is not that consent.
For Google Business Profile messaging, STOP or UNSUBSCRIBE can stop messages through that service. Sending a new message can reopen the conversation. Stopping a messaging channel does not necessarily delete earlier records or separately managed communications.
8. Privacy requests
Contact info@mitohibachi.com to ask about information you provided or request access, correction, deletion, or help with an applicable opt-out. Rights and response requirements depend on applicable law and the service involved. We may need reasonable identity verification, such as confirming control of the associated email address; do not send a password or full payment-card number.
Some records may need to remain for legal, transaction, security, dispute-resolution, or opt-out purposes. A request involving an independent provider may need to be directed to that provider. Deleting information held by Mito does not automatically delete copies independently held by a customer, a messaging provider, or another service.
9. Retention
Retention depends on the category of information and why it is needed. Relevant criteria include whether an inquiry is resolved; whether an order, event, dispute, or reservation still needs support; whether a loyalty membership or offer remains in use; verification and security-token expiry; and legal recordkeeping, security, or opt-out requirements. Independent providers may have different retention periods.
An unsubscribe request stops the applicable promotional communications; it is not automatically a request to erase all membership or transaction records. A deletion request may require retaining a limited record needed to honor an opt-out or another lawful obligation. Contact Mito about the status or retention of a particular record.
10. Security
The website and loyalty service use encrypted web connections and provider-based security features, but no website, email system, database, or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. Do not send full payment-card details, passwords, or unnecessary sensitive information through general inquiries. Contact Mito if you believe information associated with these services has been exposed or misused.
11. Children and sensitive information
The online services described here are not directed to children under 13. Children under 13 should not submit personal information through these services. A parent or guardian who believes a child has supplied personal information should contact Mito so the matter can be reviewed and handled as required by applicable law. Parents or guardians should manage child-related restaurant requests directly with staff.
12. Changes
We may update this policy when services, practices, or legal requirements change. Updates will appear with a revised effective date. Where applicable law requires additional notice or consent for a change, posting an updated policy or continued website use is not a substitute for that requirement.
